Privacy policy

This policy explains how I, Luca De Coney, handle your personal information when you visit this website or contact me. Even though the Privacy Act 1988 doesn't apply to every business, I follow the Australian Privacy Principles as best practice.

Business: Luca De Coney, ABN 38 642 241 209, Gold Coast QLD. This policy covers my app and automation work, mentoring, book mentoring and real estate photography (In The Eyes Productions).

The short version

• This website has no forms, accounts, analytics, advertising, tracking pixels or cookies.
• If you message me on WhatsApp, I'll have your name, number and whatever you send me. I use it to reply, quote, do the work and invoice you.
• I don't sell your details, and I won't send you marketing without your permission.
• You can ask to see, correct or delete your details at any time by messaging me on WhatsApp.

What I collect, and how

When you visit this website

The website itself doesn't ask for or store any of your details. It doesn't use cookies, analytics, ads or tracking pixels, and the fonts are hosted on this site rather than loaded from another service.

The site is hosted on Firebase Hosting, a Google service. Like any web host, Google receives technical information when your browser requests a page, such as your IP address. Google says Firebase Hosting uses IP addresses to detect abuse and to provide usage data, and keeps IP data for a few months. If request logging is turned on, logs can also include details such as your browser type (user agent), the page you came from and your approximate location. I don't use any of this to identify you. See Privacy and Security in Firebase and Google's privacy policy.

The photography page has two YouTube videos. They only load if you press play, and they use YouTube's privacy-enhanced mode. Once you press play, YouTube (Google) receives information from your browser, such as your IP address, under Google's privacy policy.

When you contact me

The contact buttons on this site are WhatsApp links. Pressing one opens WhatsApp with a message already written, which you can change. Nothing is sent until you press send in WhatsApp yourself.

When you message me, I'll have:

• your name and phone number, as shown in WhatsApp
• what you tell me, such as a property address, the services and dates you need, or details about your app idea or book
• anything else you choose to send, such as photos or files.

If we work together, I may also keep the details I need to deliver the work and invoice you, such as your business name and billing details. I collect information directly from you. Please don't send me sensitive information, such as health details, unless it's needed for the work you're asking about.

Why I hold, use and share it

I use your details to:

• reply to your message and answer your questions
• prepare a quote
• deliver the work you've asked for, such as photos and video, an app or automation, or mentoring sessions
• invoice you and keep the business records the law requires.

I don't sell, rent or trade your personal information. I only share it when it's needed to do the work you've asked for, or when the law requires it.

WhatsApp and other services

WhatsApp is run by WhatsApp LLC, part of Meta. When you message me, WhatsApp handles that message under its own privacy policy. WhatsApp says it offers end-to-end encryption for messages, and that it collects account, device and usage information.

Links to the App Store (Apple), Amazon (through mybook.to links) and WhatsApp take you to those services, and their own privacy policies apply once you're there.

Information stored outside Australia

I don't send your personal information overseas myself. But the services this site and my contact method rely on may store or process data outside Australia:

• WhatsApp (Meta): says information may be stored and processed in the United States and other countries where Meta, its partners or its service providers operate.
• Google (Firebase Hosting and YouTube): says Firebase Hosting can process data in any country where Google or its agents have facilities, as listed on its data centre locations page.

Keeping your information safe

Your messages stay in WhatsApp on my phone and WhatsApp account, and I take reasonable steps to protect them from misuse, loss and unauthorised access, including keeping my devices and accounts locked and password-protected. No system is completely secure, but I'll do my best to protect your information.

How long I keep it

I keep your messages and details only as long as I need them for the purposes above. Business records, such as invoices, are kept for as long as Australian tax law requires, which is generally five years. When I no longer need your information, I delete it.

Seeing, correcting or deleting your details

You can ask me at any time:

• what personal information I hold about you
• to correct anything that's wrong or out of date
• to delete your details.

Message me on WhatsApp on +61 421 227 746. It's free, and I'll respond as soon as I can and within 30 days. I may need to confirm who you are first. If I can't do what you've asked, for example because I have to keep an invoice for tax purposes, I'll tell you why and how you can complain.

You can also delete our chat in your own WhatsApp app at any time. That removes your copy but not mine, so message me if you'd like me to delete mine too.

Staying anonymous

You can browse this website without telling me who you are. You're welcome to ask general questions without giving your full name. WhatsApp will still show me your phone number, and I'll need your real details to quote, deliver the work or invoice you.

Information I didn't ask for

If someone sends me personal information I didn't ask for and don't need, I'll delete it, unless I'm required to keep it.

Marketing

I won't send you newsletters or marketing messages unless you've agreed to receive them. If you do agree, you can ask me to stop at any time, and I'll stop.

Children

This website and my services are meant for adults. If you're under 18, please ask a parent or guardian before contacting me.

Questions and complaints

If you have a question or think I've mishandled your personal information, please message me on WhatsApp on +61 421 227 746 and tell me what happened and what you'd like me to do. I'll look into it and reply within 30 days.

If you're not happy with my response, or I don't reply within 30 days, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) at oaic.gov.au or on 1300 363 992.

Changes to this policy

I'll update this policy if the way I handle personal information changes, and the date below will show when. If you'd like a copy in another format, just ask.
